The Oxford University Society Автор: http://www.alumni.ox.ac.uk The Oxford University Society was established in 2006 as the alumni association for the University of Oxford, combining the work of the independent Oxford Society with the alumni activities of the University. The Society is an organisation within the University under Council for bringing together alumni of the University and encouraging and coordinating their support for the University, other than that concerned with fundraising. It serves as the focus for alumni relations and activities on behalf of the University. Its mission is to foster alumni interest and goodwill in University affairs by encouraging intellectual and emotional ties between members and their University. The Society has a presence in more than 200 places around the world with a rapidly expanding alumni network of volunteer-run groups, including Oxford University Society branches and Oxford & Cambridge Societies. The Society is supported by the University Alumni Office, which provides a range of benefits and services for alumni members and fosters interaction between alumni and current/prospective students. The Alumni Office is part of the portfolio of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Development and External Affairs and also receives advice and support from the Board of the Oxford University Society, composed of alumni and University members. Membership Membership of the Society is free and open to anyone with a connection with the University of Oxford. Find out more about the two levels of membership here. Governance The Society is the official alumni organisation of the University of Oxford and is governed, under Council, by the Board of Trustees.
